(I'm sorry if this has been asked before, i did a search to try and make sure i wasn't repeating anything but it came up with too many results. Sad )

Anyway getting down to it, i've recently discovered that i have a pretty strong link with plants and plant life, In another thread i also mentioned how the full moon made me weird... so i figured i'd ask if anyone else has noticed connections to any elements and how?

I find plants to be peaceful and also very powerful, i mean where would we be without plants? they feed us, they recycle our air and i believe they recycle energy pretty well too. They usually tend to live longer than anything else on earth and they feed off everything then turn it into something new.

One could argue that animals do the same but the plants are the end of the line, they get everything and waste nothing. The moon on the other hand i have no idea what that does to me i'd like to be able to go on a spirit journey and ask the moon god or spirit to ask but that would probably not be a good idea...

I apologise for my ramblings and all of that but yes i would love to hear about others and how they feel the energies around them work and influence them. Smile

(for the record my brain is a little scrambled right now from a severe migraine i had the other day and has gone into hyper-drive which is probably making me over think things) Confused

I have a strong affinity for the ocean and the wide open plains. I attachments to certain plants and certain animals, as well.

Hmm, probably for me...

Karri forests - though I haven't actually stayed IN Pemberton yet, where the bulk of them are, so we'll see whether that's a 'specific pocket of karri trees' thing, or an all round thing.

Wetlands - my patron Goddess is all about swamps and wetlands, and I've been about them and their ecology all my life. Even in highschool, I was rehabilitating wetland birds, and at university - as a total fluke - I ended up studying the psychology of the wetland and the grotesque and/or feminine body. I love all wetlands.

I have a growing connection with heaths / grasslands, for some reason. Not entirely sure why. Probably a progression of loving wetlands, to also loving flat wetlands with no trees, but I can't say for certain.

And birds. Pretty much all birds excluding raptors and penguins. And especially the ratites.

I have had a hard time settling on any one or even few things. When I stop to really think about it I find I can feel connected to many environments. I am very fond of the desert of the North American Southwest but part of that stems from my not getting to spend much time there. Oceans, mountains, forests, suburban neighborhoods, busy city streets. I've lived in/near all of those environments at various points in my life. On honest introspection I can say that all of them have a connection for me.

I've come to this after taking some time to think about it. I feel comfortable and connected in a great many places. What really stands out is specific spots. There are individual, special places I have been that regardless of how long it's been since I was last there I still feel tied to; A canyon and a mountain side in Arizona. An ocean beach near Ayr, on the West coast of Scotland. A quiet neighborhood in Southern Michigan. A waterfall and an old pine forest in Southern Ohio. A mountain ridge and stand of trees just outside Honolulu.

Animals, now that's a little harder. As I don't have a lot of time right now I'll have to consider that one and come back to it later.

My current main influences and connections are not what I always have throughout my life.

Like, I have a life-long connection with cats to the point that I thought my fetch was a felid of some kind. Until I met Jogold the juvenile crow and he showed me how wrong I was.

I have also always felt a strong pull to animals and plants that thrive in urban settings, growing up in a city and all.

Death, dying, etc. has also always pulled at me or at least held my fascination in a way.

But current main influences or connections are the Sun, a Wasp, an Owlish-like spirit, and hula hoops. Oh and Jogold but he's always here whether I know it or not.

I also have a strong connection to where I live, having lived here all my life. This means things "on the edge" as we are in-between foothills/mountains and the Great Plains. The Rocky Mountains have watched over this city and therefore me (and everyone else) for a very long time.

I latch on strongly to land spirits, the genii locii. That's part of why I love the Pacific Northwest so much--I get along really well with the land here.

And, of course, the animals. While I've tried connecting with other nonhuman beings, it always seems to come back to the critters.

I'm kinda like aisteach, I can't really pin it down to just one or two specific things. I'm too tangled up in the web of life, rofl.

I get along nicely with bones though, except for humans (I'm not stupid enough to mess around in a graveyard, and human bones make me nervous anyway, despite my icon). So I guess that could be something.

deciduous forests as well as water (from stream to lake) share the strongest connection with me. I can feel the energy flow around me and through me.
