ABOUT the DICTIONARY

About this Animal Totem Dictionary

This dictionary has been a personal project of mine for many years now. It is a labour of love, and reinforces my own spirituality and connections to the earth and animals around me. It's something that I devote time to, as it becomes available to me. I am a big supporter of researching and using visualisation and journeying techniques in order to understand more about the animal yourself; but also believe that having a written totem or animal guide file can be a good launching pad or starting place for further wisdom.

I specialise in working with lesser known animals, like cane toad, seastar, marsupial mole; but within you will also find the very common animal totems like raven and wolf.

These files are not intended as a complete list of an animal's qualities. Even as I'm writing a file, I'm aware that I'm missing things out. Some animal totem files could easily be about 20 pages long if I let myself have free range; and still not encompass all of an animal's wise teachings and wisdoms. One of the most enjoyable aspects of totem work - I feel - is actually going to the animal itself to learn what other lessons it may have to share with you. Research is one way of doing this, specific visualisation is another.

I do occasionally take on requests for these sorts of files (at my discretion), and I can be contacted at ophelias.diary@gmail.com regarding requests, comments and so on.

This information can be shared online, as long as you give me credit and link back to this page, or the specific totem page. If you are sharing a great amount (i.e. more than one file), please email me.
